Warn the world about VEINS, the supernatural thriller by Lawrence C. Connolly by wearing your VEINS T-Shirt in public and documenting it with photographic evidence. The winner will be determined by popular vote, so be sure to be creative (just don’t do anything dangerous or illegal). Also, do not send lewd or provocative photos, as these will not be posted.
Once you have your evidence, send your picture to contest@veinsthenovel.com, with the subject line, “VEINS Contest,” by October 10th 2008. All entries will be posted on the VEINS Forum (http://fantasistent.com/FORUM/viewforum.php?f=19) by October 13th. All entrants will be notified when the pictures have been posted for voting. Voting will last until 11:59 PM ET on Monday, November 3, 2008.
Get as many of your friends as possible to log on to the forum and vote for your picture! The pictures with the most votes will win the prizes as outlined above. The winners will be notified by email on November 4, 2008, and the results will be posted online after winners have been finalized.
So be sure to pick up a T-shirt from a Fantasist Enterprises convention booth, at Connolly’s author appearances (see the events list at www.VEINSTheNovel.com), or order one from the VEINS website, or from FE’s main site (http://fantasistent.com/books/novels/VEINS/VEINS.php).
Rules and legal bits
Eligibility:
Employees of Fantasist Enterprises or authors, artists, and musicians involved in the design and production of VEINS and all VEINS-related merchandise, and their immediate family members are ineligible to participate.
Contest Dates:
Photo Submission Period: 12:00 AM ET on August 18, 2008 to 11:59PM ET on October 10, 2008.
Voting Period: October 13, 2008 to 11:59PM ET on November 3, 2008.
Composition of Photos:
Photos must be of you, and must not be copyrighted by someone else unless permission for us to use the photo has been obtained in writing. The front or back of the shirt must be plainly visible in the photo. If the back of the shirt is visible, the text must be legible.
Use of Entries:
Photos may be used for marketing purposes and by submitting your media to us, you grant us permission to reprint, repost, and publish your work - however copyright on media remains with the originator of the work. You waive all rights to royalties, commissions, or other gains, realized or unrealized as a result from submitting your photograph in the photo contest.
Prize Conditions and Limitations:
Fantasist Enterprises reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Odds of winning a prize will be dependent upon the total number of eligible entries received, and the number of voters. No substitution or transfer of prize is permitted, and no cash equivalent for any prize is offered, except at the sole discretion of Fantasist Enterprises. In no event shall more prizes be awarded than the number stated in the “Prizes” section above. All federal, state, and local taxes on prizes offered, if applicable, are the sole responsibility of the winner. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission from the winner to Fantasist Enterprises and its agencies to use such winner’s name and/or likeness for advertising and publicity purposes, without further compensation, except where prohibited by law. All merchandise prizes are awarded “as is” with no at-law or implied warranties whatsoever.
Winners will be notified via email. Prizes will be mailed via U.S. Postal Service.
Contest Conditions:
Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the voters, and waive any right to claim ambiguity in regard to the mechanics of the contest or the interpretation of these Official Rules. Entrants and Winners also agree to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless Fantasist Enterprises, and its subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees from and against any claims, damages or liability due to any injuries or losses to any person (including death) or property of any kind, resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize offered, or participation in this Contest.
Fantasist Enterprises is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with, or utilized in this Contest, or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing and/or transmissions in the Contest. Fantasist Enterprises assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or authorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Fantasist Enterprises is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of email due to technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or combination thereof, including injury or damage to participants or to any other person’s computer related to, or resulting from, participating in or downloading of materials in this Contest. If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including, without limitation, infection by computer virus, bugs, worms, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the reasonable control of Fantasist Enterprises which may corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, Fantasist Enterprises reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Internet portion of the Contest, and select winners from all eligible entries received up to the time of termination.
Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with the mechanics or logistics of this Contest will be declared ineligible and may be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Disputes:
Except where prohibited by law, all disputes concerning this promotion will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws, rules, and regulations of the state of Delaware without regard to its choice of laws or conflict of laws provisions.
Fantasist Enterprises reserves the right to change the terms and/or conditions of this contest at any time up until the close of the contest, with or without notification.
